Case study

Dukes London

An investment in life safety systems to ensure the safety and security of guests and staff

When Dukes London, a 5-star deluxe boutique hotel in Mayfair, needed to change its fire detection system as part of a life safety investment, they turned to ACL as a leading specialist in the configuration of fire detection solutions.

The challenge

Experienced in carrying out numerous hotel fire alarm replacements, we seamlessly moved Dukes London from their multi-loop closed protocol fire detection system to an open one.

The investment meant the hotel would have a sleek new fire system that provided the hotel with a more flexible approach to maintenance services, but importantly, would reduce unwanted false alarms.

Our Approach

After completing a thorough and full building survey, we created a bespoke and detailed project plan and commenced the changeover process which lasted a total of six weeks.

All new call points, multi-sensors and interfaces were installed with all equipment used fully EN54 compliant for intelligent fire detection.

A full commissioning report was provided on completion of the project.

The Result

The new system has been up and running since early 2014 and we are happy to report that Dukes London are delighted with the system. Deborah Dhugga, the Hotel’s Managing Director, was extremely impressed that the work was carried out within the timeline promised.

The engineers were very clean, professional and polite. Their work day started very early to enable them to complete the works on time and within budget with the least disturbance to our business. ACL were always at the end of a phone should we need to ask any questions. Delighted performance with the project – Thank you.
